Rosemary Hughes – Merry picks up the 2017 Ulster GAA President’s Award for Camogie

Congratulations to Rosemary Hughes-Merry who won the Presidents Award for Camogie last night in the Derry City Hotel!

Rosemary has been involved in Ulster Camogie in many roles including Assistant Treasurer, Treasurer, and is currently holding the position of Ulster Secretary. She is also a member of the Armagh Camogie Executive. Rosemary has been key to the running of her home club Castleblayney, Co Monaghan and has represented them at the highest level. After retiring from the playing field, Rosemary continued to referee and went a step further to become an Intercounty Referee and was a member of the national referee committee for a number of years. Rosemary is closely connected to the Granemore Camogie Club where she now resides and is one of their club referees and also sits on their committee. Rosemary typifies the ethos of Gaelic Games with her commitment and giving of her time to develop camogie both on and off the field.
